Gilded Age at Ventfort Hall
April 24, 2016Have you ever desired to take a walk back in time and feel the magic of the past? I am sure I am not the only one who always wanted to step into a moment in the turn of the century, gilded age or an episode of Downton Abbey. It is possible…
This amazing Berkshire mansion was rescued at the last possible moment from ruin. Years of raising money, planning, restoring and rebuilding made this Lenox treasure a remarkable piece of history. Ventfort Hall, the summer house of Sara Morgan, sister of JP Morgan, was our key to walk into the past with this photoshoot. We gathered talented, New England, Berkshire and Hudson Valley professionals to once again bring to life this precious Berkshire cottage. Romantic Gilded Age and mysterious Gatsby was our inspiration.
The talented photographer, Elaina Mortali, grasped my vision right away and we began our journey to almost 100 years ago. Jim Gop from Heirloom Fire indulged us with sparkling cocktails, delectable appetizers and a mouthwatering dinner. The food was served by fabulous, paper boy styled servers. Cassandra Events provided stunning flower arrangements and Darren from Encore Audio Event Services and his lighting fixtures transformed the whole place into something spectacular. Cinematographer, Karolina, captured the essence of what was happening and is working on a video montage of design (stay tuned). Classical Tents provided beautiful tableware, linens, and lanterns. Our friends from Bella Figura created custom letterpress stationary. Soon to be married to Bill (yeah, it was a real couple!), gorgeous Waterfall wore an exquisitely handmade wedding dress from Celia Grace; hair and make-up: Jenna Lanphear.
The charm of Ventfort Hall, the history and the watchful ghosts made this styled photoshoot an exciting experience captured in this impressive collection of photographs and video
Special thanks to Marsha McDermott, Linda Rocke, all the volunteers from Ventfort and models: Iwona, Olivia and Nathan.
