Xiao Li & Dan- Bohemian Harmony
December 5, 2017Southwood Estate in Germantown, NY is an eloquent and eye catching property, so naturally Xiao Li and Dan’s July 8th wedding was nothing less.
The escort card display was inspired during our first meeting at ABC Cocina in NYC. After dinner the bride took me to ABC Home store just to look around. We saw this beautiful dreamcatchers and Buddha displays and that was it. We knew it right there how we wanted to design this special day. Dream catchers were the focal point of the design. They were spreading out across the entire property to bring only the most of the fun and loving energy to the gorgeous couple. Nothing quite catches your eye like a one-of-a-kind dream catcher in the center of an arbor welcoming Dan and Xiao Li as they became husband and wife.
The overall design was fresh and organic, with each element flowing harmoniously. The weather definitely played trick on us. It eventually stopped raining and mother nature rewarded us with absolutely stunning sunset. Guests were able to lay down and relax under stunning draped fabrics, have a cocktail, and look over to the Hudson River and Catskill mountains while beautiful music filled the air.
Throughout the entire celebration, subtle pops of color truly brought out how simple and beautiful ivory is. The sharpness of the ivory against the dark wood on the tables was a standout, and complemented the softness of the florals. The organic nature of the design was all in all quite striking.
